achievement and career aspirations).

Awarded Queens Police Medal (QPM) for distinguished Police Service
in the pursuance of fairness and good police and community race
relations. (July 2003)

Presently Staff Officer with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate
Constabulary (HMIC) responsible for the race and diversity national
portfolio.

Former General Secretary and founder member of the National
Black Police Association. (1998-2000)
o
Former Chair and founder member of the Nottinghamshire Black
Police Association. (1999-2000)
o
Sat on the Home Secretary’s working group overseeing the
implementation of the Lawrence Inquiry recommendations. (1999-2000)

Executive committee member of the British Association of Women
Police.

Winner of the 1999 Excellence in Community and Race Relations
shield - awarded by Nottingham City Council.
o
Involved in the development of Support networks and formulation
of objectives for a number on groups including Women’s
Integrated Network (W.I.N), Lesbian, Gay and Bi-Sexual support
network and Youth Offending Team Black Workers Group.
