Joe Grant

General Secretary, Scottish Police Federation

Joe Grant became General Secretary of the Scottish Police Federation in October 2005 having worked for Strathclyde Federation since 1999. His police service has been mainly within North Lanarkshire where he lives with his wife and family.

On joining the Federation in 1991, his early efforts focused on improving the provision of Officer Safety Training and equipment. During his tenure as a Joint Branch Board Secretary he saw at first hand the damage done to some colleagues who had their dignity compromised at work. He therefore welcomes the productive relationships with SEMPERscotland and looks for those to be strengthened throughout Scotland.

As General Secretary his aim is to attract more colleagues to stand for election as representatives to what is a challenging but very rewarding role.
