of Countries, Regions and Communities - Commission for Racial
Equality
Ali
is Director of Countries, Regions and Communities (CRC) for
the Commission for Racial Equality and in addition to this GB-wide
role is also Director of the CRE’s Scotland Office.
Ali
is the Scottish representative on the Cabinet office / DTI reference
group for the Equalities review and the Discrimination Law review
that are being undertaken to inform the shape of the forthcoming
CEHR and a possible Single equality Act. She is also currently
Convenor of the Scottish Equalities Coordinating Group (ECG)
Before
joining the CRE, Ali spent 5 years in the voluntary sector with
Stonewall setting up a new Scottish office to further the achievement
of legal equality and social justice for LGBT people.
Prior
to this Ali held senior management positions in marketing and
human resources for a FTSE 100 company of 50,000 employees.
In the last 3 years of her 10 year career there, she was co-developer
and Director of a consultancy unit responsible for a worldwide
programme of strategy development and organisational change-management
working in over 30 different countries.
Ali
has also worked as a freelance consultant with organisations
in the public, private and non-profit sectors assisting them
with the creation and implementation of sustainable strategy,
structures for governance and the subsequent development of
their human capital to deliver against this.
