The 2nd Annual General Meeting of SEMPERscotland will be held at Strathclyde Force Training and Recruitment Centre, Eaglesham Road, Jackton, East Kilbride G75 8GR on May 10, 2006 at 9:00 a.m.

A fantastic opportunity to update members, partners, supporters and friends on the organisation’s progress so far and the exciting programmes planned for the future.

The Keynote Speech will be delivered by Ali Jarvis, Director of Countries, Regions and Communities – Commission for Racial Equality.

All are encouraged to attend the networking session that follows immediately after. A buffet lunch will be served.

Executive Committee Election


The AGM will elect members to the Executive Committee in accordance with Section 85 of the organisation’s Articles of Association.

The Executive Committee elected will serve until the next Annual General Meeting.

Special Business

Resolution 1

As special business, to consider and if thought fit, pass the following resolution as an ordinary resolution:

Resolution be passed in accordance with Article 129 to:

‘Appoint 1 (one) or more honorary Patrons, an honorary President and any number of honorary Vice-Presidents, who shall be ex officio* members of the Company. Any appointment to honorary office made under this Article may be for life or for such other period as may be specified at the time of appointment.’


Recommendation

The Executive Committee believes that the resolution proposed is in the best interests of the organisation as a whole and unanimously recommend members to vote in favour of it.


* Latin for "from the office," to describe someone who has a right because of an office held, such as being allowed to sit on a committee simply because one is president of the corporation.
